  • ENT 110: Insect Biology – Advisors: Please consider telling students about this class that occurs every fall and spring semester and fulfills the core requirement for natural sciences. The class meets from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Erikson Hall. It covers a wide range of topics including insect identification, insect pests, beneficial insects, pests of concern to Kentucky, insect-transmitted diseases, their importance as pollinators and much more. Event Promotion 

  • Now – Aug. 14– Textbook Donation Drive – As an advocate for social justice and education, Brittany Rice is organizing a book donation drive for disadvantaged undergraduate students of Rusangu University located in Zambia, Africa. Textbooks from various disciplines are welcomed. If you or anyone from your college is willing to donate textbooks, contact Brittany Rice at b.rice@uky.edu. The last day to donate books is Aug. 14.
  • Aug. 22– CAFE Student Organization Fair – 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Garrigus Alumni Plaza, CAFE student organizations are invited to meet the college's newest students. Organizations will have an opportunity set up a table and recruit new members. For more information, and to RSVP, click here.
  • Oct. 23-25 – UK Leadership Forum – Save the Dates! The 2017 UK Leadership Forum is sponsored by UK Human Resources, the Office for Faculty Advancement and the Office for Institutional Diversity. Watch for announcements and registration information later in the year.

  • Ag extension specialist senior for family health – The School of Human Environmental Sciences, FCS Extension. Primary functions of this position are to plan, develop, implement and evaluate research-based family health extension programs. Developing networks; providing leadership to FCS agents; collaborating with professionals and organizations; and providing reports are also vital. Position is dependent on funding.   • Ag extension specialist FCS – The School of Human Environmental Sciences, Family and Consumer Sciences Extension seeks an Agriculture Extension Specialist to provide leadership and direction of curricula, instructional materials and educational media for Kentucky extension agents. This position is part of a team of FCS extension specialists who support county educators in improving the quality of individual and family life through extension, research and outreach.
