  • Working Parents Network Survey – The UK Working Parents network is looking into the possibility of creating a platform for parents to connect with one another and ask for help. Please take this 1-minute survey to provide feedback, if you are interested.
  • National Cybersecurity Awareness Month – Oct. 1-31, As our lives have become increasingly dependent on technology, virtually all personal and business data is kept on internet-connected platforms, which can become a gold mine for bad actors. Own your role in cybersecurity by starting with the basics. Creating strong passwords and using multifactor authentication (2FA), backing up your critical data and updating your devices software are great places to start. Learn more here.
  • Job Opening - HR Coordinator - Plant & Soil Sciences – The Department of Plant and Soil Sciences seeks a human resources coordinator. Oct. 13 – Harvest Hour, Restaurants After COVID with The LEE Initiative, 3-5 p.m., Cornerstone Exchange Building. The discussion will include a casual conversation with food system leaders across our food community and will allow attendees and presenters to learn about everyone’s thoughts of the area’s vibrant food ecosystem. In the session, LEE Initiative representatives will discuss ways they helped initiate emergency relief and recovery during COVID-19 and how businesses are surviving the pandemic. Read more here.

Oct. 16 – Arbor Day - Let's Care for our Tree Canopy, 8:30 a.m.- 5 p.m. Our annual Arbor Day celebration at the Arboretum will include fun and educational tree activities for adults and children. Nov. 1 – 4 Annual Intercultural Awareness Day, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Themed “Learn Together, Grow Together,” this year’s event will focus on urban and rural sustainability within the local food system. The program will center around minority business owners in the food chain and their challenges of entrepreneurship and working with local farmers delivered through two panels and a networking brunch. Registration is open now through Oct. 22.

Nov. 8 – Harvest Hour, Cooperative Communities for Uncertain Times: Louisville Community Grocery, 3-5p.m., Cornerstone Exchange Building. The discussion will include a casual conversation with food system leaders across our food community and will allow attendees and presenters to learn about everyone’s thoughts of the area’s vibrant food ecosystem. Attendees will hear from Google leaders who are working on a community-owned grocery store. They will discuss the role of cooperative economics and community grocery stores’ role in community health and food security. Read more here.
