Hugh Edward Sandefur Center (HESC) participants will join with the Henderson County Extension Office and Master Gardeners to learn to grow, harvest, and market fresh fruits, vegetables, and flowers, retailing them at the local Farmer's Market. First year plans include 3-4 raised beds with at least one of them wheelchair accessible. Plans also include planting some perennial plants such as Asparagus and Raspberry bushes. Through the summer, participants will concentrate on basic production skills such as weed control, pest control, water management, and soil health. Later this fall, plans include to market our flowers and vegetables at the local farmers market.
