  • CAFE College Store now open – The College of Agriculture, Food and Environment College Store, which features licensed seasonal apparel and accessories available for purchase, is now open. Items will rotate based on the season. View the catalog and start your order here.
  • UK Winery Holiday Sales – The UK winery is now offering preselected variety packs of wine to purchase through the holiday season. Extended pickup times are offered at the Horticulture Research Farm and at the Orange parking lot on campus. Orders need to be placed by midnight the day before pickup.   • Job Opening for Laboratory Technician Sr. – The College of Agriculture, Food, and Environment, Equine Analytical Chemistry Lab, seeks a laboratory technician senior. The position performs wet chemistry benchwork, extractions, reagent preparation and general laboratory tasks for the purpose of analyzing equine blood and urine samples, ensuring compliance with laboratory protocols.   • Job Opening - Budget Officer (Research Farms) – The Research Farms provide a vast array of teaching, research and extension opportunities for the college’s faculty, staff and students. The budget officer position is a key member of the team, providing oversight of the budget, purchasing, human resources and payroll functions. The deadline to apply is Dec. 5.   • Job Opening - Administrative Staff Officer II - Business Center – The administrative staff officer will serve as a key member of the college’s Business Center team.   • Provide input on UK's economic development and innovation efforts – The University of Kentucky is participating in the Innovation and Economic Prosperity certification hosted by the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities . As part of the certification process, you can help identify the strengths and weaknesses associated with the university’s economic development and innovation efforts by taking part in a survey.   • Employee Discount Program and more tools – The holiday season can get a bit frantic. Here are some resources to help:

1. Remember that UK permits staff to use up to two TDL days as well-being days each year. This could help with shopping and food prep.

Virtual and In-person Events

Dec. 9, 10 – Craft a Holiday Kissing Ball Virtual Class with The Arboretum. Pick up a kit of materials from The Arboretum and make your kissing ball in the comfort of your own home. We will give you a link to an instructional video on how to make a kissing ball using greenery. Preregistration is required. Contact us by email at arboretum@uky.edu or call 859-257-9339. The cost is $31.80 (tax included) per kissing ball kit. Face coverings are required to enter and purchase your kit. Pick up on Dec. 9 is from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. or Dec. 10 from 8:30 a.m.-noon.
