  • College Business Management Institute (CBMI) – The nationally known institute is an excellent professional development opportunity for CAFE business and administrative staff. It offers staff the opportunity to learn about business practices in higher education and understand the history of higher education.   • Step Up Challenge – As part of UK's well-being week, you can participate in our Step Up challenge. If you reach at least 6,000 steps on five of the seven days, you'll win a UK tumbler. Click here to register.

  • Beginning Farmer Research Study – Researchers in the College of Nursing invite you to take part in a 6-month research study about your experiences as a beginning farmer, depression and your occupational stress “farm stress” level. This study consists of electronic surveys and a virtual support community. Open to beginning farmers in Washington, Franklin, Owen, Harrison, Anderson, Henry, Woodford and Scott counties.   • LRC Fire Support – A fire destroyed one of the farmhouses at the Little Research Center occupied by Animal and Food Sciences employee Derrick Wise. Derrick and his family got out safely and are staying with family who live in the area but lost most of their personal possessions. If you would like to help, the Animal and Food Sciences department is collecting cash donations to be given to the family on May 7. May 6 – Cultivating Inclusion Series: Leveraging Connections: A Restorative Approach to Community Building, 12-1 p.m. The Cultivating Inclusion Series provides an informal, safe environment for faculty, staff and students to engage in conversations related to diversity and inclusion while fostering an appreciation of inclusivity within the UK College of Agriculture, Food and Environment. In this session, participants will utilize restorative justice circles to enhance community building strategies. Register here.

May 12 – Bill Best Award Presentation and Celebration, 3-5 p.m. The Cornerstone Building - Gallery, first floor. Visitor lot at Parking Structure No. 5 - 409 S. Limestone St. Please join us for the presentation of the 2021 Bill Best Award as we recognize Roger Snell of the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. May 22 – 2020 New Faculty Orientation Ignite Speaker Follow-Up Session No. 3: A Discussion with Dr. Lisa Cassis, vice president for research, 10-11 a.m. This workshop is intended for 2020 new faculty members. This is the third of four follow-up sessions with Ignite speakers from the 2020 New Faculty Orientation. These four Ignite speakers were ranked the highest by the new faculty that completed the NFO survey.  Cassis will discuss all things related to research at UK, as well as field questions from new faculty.
