Academic Appointments
All appointments of faculty members new to the Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment require the New Faculty Demographic Form.
Once a final candidate has been selected for a position and a signed offer letter has been returned, the candidate must receive an Academic Appointment. Appointment procedures vary based on the title series and position. Departments are strongly encouraged to process academic appointments before the beginning of the initial semester or start date of the appointment. Expediting Senior Appointments
In cases where departments seek to hire outstanding senior-level faculty members, it may be appropriate to expedite the process of appointing the candidate to the rank of Associate Professor or Professor (with or without tenure). The Provost’s Office has issued guidelines for these cases, which are available here.
