Promotion and/or Tenure Generalized Timeline
March | Office of Faculty Resources, Planning & Assessment (OFRPA) generates potential candidate list for Academic Unit Leader of unit. |
April | Academic Unit Leader review potential candidates, request updated CV (and other materials the potential candidate would like to provide such as narrative statement) from potential candidates, and discuss with academic unit advisory committee. |
April | Academic Unit Leaders respond to OFRPA with list of names, CV, and other materials that the faculty member would like to provide. |
May to July | Dean and Associate Deans complete preliminary review of CVs and provide comments via OFRPA. OFRPA provides comments to Academic Unit Leaders who then confirm P&T list. OFRPA schedules dossier prep meeting with Academic Unit Leader and candidate. |
July to August | Academic Unit Leader requests external letters of evaluation and upon receipt, provide to academic unit faculty for review. |
September | Academic Unit Leader requests review letters from required consultations of academic unit faculty. |
September | Academic Unit Faculty compose review letters. |
Late September | Academic Unit Leader composes letter of recommendation. |
Third week of October | Dossier due to OFRPA. |
Late October to early December | College Advisory Committee on Appointment, Promotion and Tenure (APT Committee) reviews dossier and makes a recommendation to Dean. |
Mid-December to January | Dean completes review and composes letter of recommendation. |
Second week of January | Dossier due to the Office of the Provost. |
